Riggs Distler & Company acquired Bemis Line Construction and wanted to develop a new Vermont Regional Office for their utility infrastructure business. Focused on maintaining their local presence, Riggs Distler required a new regional office building. Stevens & Associates provided architectural, structural, and site design services including the preparation of construction documents and construction review.
An existing double-wide trailer, serving as office space, was replaced with a new building consisting of a reception area, office space, an employee lounge and conference areas. S&A provided site design, Act 250 Review, permitting and landscape architecture services for this project. The desired design was coordinated with the architectural intent and MEP requirements. The structure consisted of wood framing over a concrete foundation, roof framing of prefabricated wood trusses and a lateral system of lightly framed plywood shear walls. S&A designed site layout, parking, grading, drainage, landscaping and erosion control. In addition, consultation on behalf of the client was provided during local permitting, S&A prepared applications for a Wetlands Permit, Stormwater Discharge Permit, an Act 250 Permit and a Potable Water Supply and Wastewater Disposal permit application with the State of Vermont.
