The Pleasant Street Enhancement project in Bennington, Vermont, includes upgrades to historically sensitive sidewalks, curbs, and streetlights. In one section of the project, sidewalks will be widened to improve the pedestrian experience. Street trees, planting beds, and pedestrian islands will all be added. New ornamental lighting is being designed to coordinate with existing historical lighting. The project is being funded through an FHA Enhancement Grant and is subject to VTrans LTF procedure and right-of-way negotiations.
