Architectural Staff (Level II)

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meets the client’s needs.
  • Provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of projects.
  • Independently applies advanced architectural concepts and designs.
  • Carries out intricate assignments requiring improved or custom techniques or procedures.
  • Provides technical guidance to less experienced staff.
  • For licensed staff: Responsible for design and technical decisions.
  • Responsible for adherence to BIM / Documentation standards and best-practices. Works within project BIM models, concept design drawings, and construction documents through all phases of the design and construction process, with guidance and oversight from more senior staff.
  • Acts in assistant capacity to Senior Level staff on projects. Assists in the coordination of administrative and technical efforts including schedule, budgets and scope of work.
  • Licensed candidates shall be responsible for design decisions and shall stamp record documents. Licensed candidates shall lead all client correspondence.  Non-licensed candidates shall support design decisions & client coordination.

Education and Professional Experience

  • Professional or non-professional degree in Architecture.
  • 5 to 8 years of professional experience.
  • Licensure required for Architect II, a plus for Architectural Designer II.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Revit and MS Office (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Familiarity with AutoCad, SketchUp, and Bluebeam a plus.
  • Possesses knowledge in architectural design, production of construction documentation, and the construction administration process.
  • Possesses knowledge in construction practices and detailing.
  • Possesses basic knowledge of MEP and Structural systems and demonstrated experience coordinating building systems to integrate effectively with the design.

Other Job Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license.
  • The ability to lift and carry 25-40lbs on occasion.

Limits of Authority

  • The Architect II/Architectural Designer II has authority to participate in and guide developing major decisions concerning cost, design, schedule, and completion of projects with approval from senior staff.

EXPECTED SALARY

$65,000-$76,000 annually, plus benefits.
