Leland and Gray Union High School

Stevens & Associates, in conjunction with Charles Bergman Architects and Bannister & Greenberg Architects, worked with the Leland and Gray school board to develop a site design, architectural plans, and feasibility study for an addition to the school.  The team also worked with the school to develop public consent for a bond vote to fund the renovations.  This process included public meetings, board meetings, and citizen advisory committee meetings to review alternative designs and identify issues and concerns. The bond vote passed in 2007.

The goal of the design was to add classroom space and an auditorium and to renovate the historic Dutton Gym. The site design improved the front entry and the relationship to the town green as well as providing separate drop-off locations for buses and parents. Parking was expanded and improved and pedestrian circulation was organized to improve safety and connectivity.
