St. Michael’s Episcopal Church – Providence, RI
The St. Michael’s Episcopal Church project included complete interior refurbishing to address functional improvements. The wood floors at the nave and chancel were restructured to support marble and encaustic ceramic tile, greatly enhancing acoustics. A programmable lighting system was installed to brighten the space and illuminate the new decorative painting scheme. Twenty-four stained glass windows were restored, including the large Tiffany window at the apse. The exterior preservation addressed slate roofing repairs and extensive brownstone restoration. A new addition now connects the church and chantry with the church school, while complementing the 1860s architecture with a half-timbered style. We served as preservation architects, working with liturgical and acoustical consultants.
